D25 SSP Bargaining Unit – Commitment to Equity and Inclusion Statement
The D25 SSP Bargaining Unit recognizes the importance of encouraging and supporting the active involvement of all members. We acknowledge that some members have historically experienced marginalization. We are committed to identifying, addressing, and removing the barriers that contribute to this inequity.
We affirm our support for equity, diversity, and social justice within both our bargaining unit and our district. We believe that when members feel respected, included, and valued, their engagement deepens—and so does their sense of belonging within our barging unit.
We are committed to actively fostering the inclusion, representation, and engagement of members from equity-seeking and historically underrepresented groups. We understand that not all discrimination is intentional or visible. We recognize that discrimination can be inadvertent, hidden, or systemic. These forms must be identified and challenged through deliberate, sustained action.
Together, we will work to build a more inclusive and equitable union—one where every member has a voice.
Professional Development in Equity, Anti-oppression, Inclusion, and Human Rights Practices
Information and links regarding Equity Certificate opportunities are shared with members to support ongoing learning and professional development in equity, anti-oppression, inclusion, and human rights practices. These opportunities are intended to help strengthen understanding, build leadership capacity, and support members in creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces and school communities.
